JCQ Guidance for Students and Parents

At UTC Leeds, we expect all students and parents/carers to read and understand the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) documents provided at the start of each academic year and exam season. These documents outline the rules and expectations for coursework, controlled assessments, and public examinations.

✅ Students must follow JCQ regulations to ensure fairness and integrity in all assessments.
📚 Parents/carers should support students by familiarising themselves with these rules and encouraging responsible exam behaviour.

Exam Timetables Summer 2026

Start: Thursday 7 May 2026
End: Tuesday 23 June 2026

National contingency date - Wednesday 24 June 2026 (all day)

This contingency day is set nationally by JCQ and Ofqual and may be used only if an exam has to be moved due to national or significant local disruption (e.g. severe weather, major incident). Students must remain available on this date.

All students entered for GCSE, A Level, Applied Level 3 and T Level qualifications must be available for the full exam window, even if their individual exams finish earlier.
