What an incredible day it’s been here at UTC Leeds. We are beaming with pride and overwhelmed by the incredible achievements of our students. Both A level and Engineering Technical Awards results have been remarkable and reflected the hard work and determination of our students.
The day saw outstanding destinations for all our students, including degree apprenticeships in Aerospace engineering, Nuclear Engineering Software Development and Building Design Services. We also celebrated university places for Chemistry at Nottingham University, Computer Science at Leeds University, Aerospace Engineering at Sheffield University and Mechatronic Engineering at Manchester University. Not forgetting our students who have secured apprenticeship places with Kirkstall Engineering, M1 Engineering, Produmax and The Royal Navy.
Today’s results are the perfect reward for a wealth of hard work from all students, including Alex who joined the UTC at the beginning of Year 10, who has achieved an A* in physics, A* in mathematics and an A in Chemistry, and is now going on to Durham University to study physics. He said, “I have achieved everything I wanted to by joining UTC Leeds. I couldn’t be happier with my results today. The teachers have immensely helped me to get there – teachers who have shown that they are not only experts, but that they are humans too.”
Principal of UTC Leeds, Hannah Wilson, said, “We are extremely proud of each of our remarkable young people and their achievements over their time at UTC Leeds. Throughout the three academic years affected by Covid, they have shown true resilience, and their strength and determination are testament to the extraordinary young people we have the privilege to work with at UTC Leeds. As a college, we celebrate the exceptional destinations our young people have achieved as a result of their hard work and look forward to the contribution they will make to the world of science, engineering and innovation.”
All staff at UTC Leeds are extremely proud of what Year 13 students have achieved this year. We feel genuinely honoured to have taught them and watched them succeed. Their hard work and dedication have paid off, helping them to achieve amazing results and allowing them to progress to the next steps in their career journeys.
