Congratulations to one of our Year 10 students, Dominic Donnell, who recently took park in the ‘Irish Lead Climbing Championship’ and secured first place in the Male Youth B competition!
This competition is one of two national championships run by Mountaineering Ireland and takes place over two days, with youth climbers competing on one day and senior climbers competing on the other.
Dominic climbs for ‘The Depot Performance Squad’ and trains regularly at ‘Big Depot’ on Geldard Road, which is the ‘Depot Climbing Centres’ most recent opening and renovation. The new climbing facility includes their first ever lead wall and brand new training area. The facility aims to provide ‘the best climbing experience in Yorkshire and the UK’.
