Further Mathematics KS5
Studying Further Mathematics will enable you to distinguish yourself as an able mathematician in your application for university and future employment. Students who take Further Mathematics are really demonstrating a strong commitment to their studies, as well as learning about subject matter that is useful for any mathematically rich degree.

Pearson Edexcel AS/A Level in Further Mathematics
What does the course cover?
For A Level, you will study core topics as follows:
- Proof, Complex numbers, Matrices, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus, Further vectors, Polar coordinates, Hyperbolic functions and Differential equations
Then a choice of two options covering:
- Statistics, Mechanics, Decision Maths or Further Pure Mathematics
How will you be assessed?
Assessment is through exams. The A Level course is assessed through four 1.5 hour exams each worth 25% of the overall marks.
What can you go on to do?
Mathematics will equip you for a wide range of study options at university as well as for higher apprenticeships.
