Employers regularly send us details of apprenticeships because they know that we prepare young people for the world of work – in particular, for jobs in the engineering, manufacturing and high tech sectors. Heysham Nuclear Power Apprenticeships

“Our Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship Scheme is a four-year programme which focuses on the skills required to maintain our power stations. As well as the technical skills, we will also help you develop the attitudes and behaviours essential to the safe operation of our power stations. Upon completion, you’ll be awarded a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Certificate, you’ll also have attained a BTEC Level 3, with the potential for further education such as a HNC.”

Arena Group: Apprentice IT Technician

Key Requirements:

  • Understanding of technology would be beneficial – Hardware & Software
  • Hardware/Electronics knowledge would be beneficial
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Math’s and English
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Willing to learn
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude

Full training and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship by both Baltic Apprenticeships and Arena Group.

BAM Nuttall apprenticeships

In partnership with Leeds College of Building, Bam Nuttall’s bespoke Technical Apprenticeship Programme is an amazing opportunity to enter the engineering industry after your GCSEs or A-levels.

Over a 4-year programme, you’ll achieve an industry-recognised higher apprenticeship in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be promoted to Assistant Engineer or Quantity Surveyor, with the option to progress onto a degree level apprenticeship programme.

You’ll need GCSE Maths grades 9 – 5 (A-B), and English & Science at grades 9 – 4 (A-C); or equivalent.

Recruitment for these apprenticeship opportunities is from November – February each year, with the new intake beginning in September.

Apprentice Support Engineer

Westminster Controls is looking to appoint a Apprentice Support Engineer to join their team.

Westminster Controls has been designing, installing and commissioning Building Management Control Systems (BMS) since 1982, one of the first dedicated BMS companies in the UK. Westminster works in a large range sectors of such as: Retail, Commercial, Education, Healthcare & the Pharmaceutical industries.

As a Apprentice Support Engineer you will be involved in the design and development of software and hardware systems to integrate and control the building management systems within the built environment. Your role will initially involve supporting the Engineers and Managers to deliver our projects, including being responsible for receiving deliveries and dispatching goods; ordering stock and components from suppliers; creating commissioning and service reports and keeping various management systems updated. At the same time, you will commence technical training and gain experience working in the field with our Engineers to prepare you for a move up into Commissioning or Servicing of our Building Management Systems.

Their apprenticeship programme will support you in gaining experience across all of our business areas by providing you with the opportunity to work on many exciting projects across the UK.
